About Handpans
Invented less than 20 years ago, the Handpan has a sound unlike any instrument in the world and an intuitive design that invites meditative and spontaneous playing, improvisation, and composition.
About the Immersion
During the Immersion you will:
-learn to touch the instruments in ways that create a fluid and dynamic sound
-explore melody, harmony, and rhythm
-listen more deeply
-breathe with greater awareness
-play and create lots of music together.
Also, no musical experience is required to play these instruments :)
About Peter Levitov
Peter Levitov is an experimental, multi-instrumentalist and improvisational composer. His soundscapes, inspired by Tibetan,Sufi, and Indigenous healing traditions, explore a broad range of instrumentation, from ancient to contemporary, creating restorative environments that support personal growth and healing.
Bio:
Peter first laid hands on a PANArt Hang in the summer of 2009. "At that moment I knew what I would be doing with the rest of my life." He has been playing Handpan/Pantam and teaching professionally for 7 years, traveling the country and the world in search of new sounds and singing steel family near and far. He has filled his days with all things Handpan; facilitating workshops and immersions, performing, busking, teaching, building, visiting players and builders, and always seeking the ever elusive perfect sound. This journey has provided a broad and deep body of work and experiences to draw upon. His primary goal is to save his students time in the quest towards their ideal playing experience and to share the richness of this ev
