Bear Creek Park

New to hiking in Orlando? This is the perfect spot for you! The trail's loop shape ensures you don't get lost and it is shorter than many other Orlando area trails.

Disney Wilderness Preserve

Get away from the theme parks in Orlando and experience the natural beauty of Orlando while hiking near Disney. A conservation project of The Nature Conservancy, this serene landscape near Kissimmee spans 11,500 acres and is known nationally as a leading example of sustainable development.  This preserve has diverse habitats that include pine flatwoods, oak scrub, and wetlands. It is also home to plenty of wildlife! 

Big Tree Park

Interested in hiking near Downtown Orlando? Big Tree Park is a perfect place to walk, run, bike, lounge, and hike. This lush scenic space in Thornton Park is just outside the hustle and bustle of Downtown Orlando's shopping and restaurant district. 

Bill Frederick Park

This park runs along Turkey Lake, which is one of the top lakes for fishing in Florida. You can also hike, camp in cabins, canoe, and kayak. 

Econ River Wilderness Area

These 240 acres are located in east Orlando and run along the Econlochachee river. The well-maintained trail system will take you across the prairies and pine flatwoods that hug the river. 

Tosohatchee WMA

Tosohatchee is 3,701 acres of wildlife management area located along the St. John's River in Christmas, Florida. Trails can be used by hikers, bicyclists, and horseback riders. You can also fish, bird watch, kayak, and canoe. There are multiple types of campsites available including ones for backpackers, youth, and those with horses. 

Black Bear Wilderness Area, Sanford

Offers a 7.1 mile loop trail and lots of wildlife. However, this trail is not for beginners and is often steep or slippery, so wear proper footwear and make sure to bring a walking stick.  

Black Hammock Wilderness Area

This east Orlando hiking trail is located near Lake Jesup and runs 4.5 miles long. This one isn't a hard trail to traverse and has a loop at the end so you don't have to worry about going to far off the beaten path.
