Event Details

Join Denise Crawley to learn how she grows her own food using low-maintenance, organic, and sustainable gardening practices with photos, tips and tricks from her 8-year-old food forest garden.

Class is for the beginning gardeners through advanced.

Additionally, each attendee will be provided with some of Denise's favorite seeds and cuttings as well as a worksheet to create a step-by-step garden plan.

Topics

Improve soil naturally: compost, chop and drop, chickens, no-till
Where to plant: understanding sun exposure throughout the seasons, water tables.

Clever ways to water: ponds, rain barrels, and fish tanks

Plants: natives, edibles, invasives, cover crops, pollinators, nitrogen fixers
Dealing with insects and pests: ants, mosquitoes, squirrels, Cuban tree frogs, mosquitoes

This seminar is an in-person event that will take place in our outdoor event space, The Learning Center pavilion, and pre-registration is required.

This seminar includes a $5 off $10 or more Rockledge Gardens coupon that will be emailed to you the day of the event.

A selection of local craft beers, natural wines, coffee, kombucha, and more will be available for purchase in our Farmers Market!

You are welcome to bring drinks and food from our Farmers Market into this workshop to enjoy.

Our Farmers Market will have snacks, produce, fresh bread, additional drinks, and more available for purchase before and after this event for you to continue enjoying our after-hours Wine Down Wednesday in the Gardens!
