The Children's Advocacy Center of Brevard holds open house on July 11, from 9 to 11 am, as they move into their new facility
Start on : July 11, 2018 9:00 AM Wednesday
End on : July 11, 2018 11:00 AM Wednesday
The Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard (CACB) recently moved to a new location at 1100 Rockledge Blvd, in Rockledge. Partnering with the Space Coast Health Foundation they purchased the building to house in one place the teams responsible for child abuse investigations: the Depart. Of Children and Families (DCF), Child Protection Team (CPT), the Sheriffs Office (BCSO), the States Attorney’s Office, and mental health providers. Having them all in one child friendly environment helps the children tell their story, ensures their safety, supports caregivers, and holds offenders accountable. It all begins in the new lobby where the fun filled, colorful wall art creates a friendly welcome.
Recently artists from the Studios of Cocoa Beach completed decorating the lobby in the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevards’s new facility. Working with a concept created by Jeanie Raciti, the Center Director and designer Clay Stephens, artists from the Studios turned that vision into a reality. Artist Marsha Houck designed and painted colorful silhouettes of children at play along the 17 foot wall. The children hold balloons, with each balloon featuring the name of a donor. The balloons themselves are works of art by CACB staff members, friends, and Studios artists including Linda Z and Barbara Duffy.
The Center will hold an Open House on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 9 to 11 am.
One of the ways companies and individuals can support the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard is to sponsor a room or buy a balloon. To be recognized on the wall, contact Jeanie at 321-241-6610 or visit www.CACBrevard.org
