Sit around the bar at our outdoor kitchen and watch and Loren and Marlene teach you to make nine different dishes featuring mangoes! Come hungry, you will leave full! This workshop is limited to 15 participants. Pre-registration required.
Loren Rapport and Marlene Childers are both native Floridians who spent many years living in the "Redlands" of South Dade County. This agricultural district produced the largest acreage and varieties of mangos in the continental U.S. Loren's father grew some of the first "organic" mangos and bushels often ended up in Brevard County at the Sunseed Co-op and Tidwell Groves. During "Mango Season" starting with the Erwins in early June to the Keitts, Kents and Tommy's through September, a variety of creative mango dishes sprang up from both households. This sharing the love of the mango has been a tradition between the two families for over 50 years.
