Join us for our first-ever Little Bugs Club Summer Gardening Camp all about our best six-legged friends, pollinators! This fun half-day, one-week camp for ages 4-12 will used a S.T.E.A.M.

Event Details

based curriculum led by entomologist and horticulturalist Amanda Rose Newton. Camp hours will be 8am-11:30am. Each day will have a specific theme and everything for the day (games, snack, lessons, and crafts) will correspond to the theme. Each day will include a healthy theme-based snack and end with a water activity to cool down! On the last day, parents are invited to join us for a Pollinator Feast while campers show off what they've been learning! Cost is $150 for the first camper and $130 for each additional sibling, includes all project materials and morning snack.
Day 1: Bug Sense! - Campers learn how pollinators use their senses and how what they do engages our senses too!
Day 2: Nature Science - Why are pollinators important?
Day 3: Pretty Pollination - Art in nature day!
Day 4: Insect Architects - Building and Problem-solving
Day 5: Pollinator Feast -  Pollinators are responsible for the majority of the food we eat! Yum!

Q: Who are the intructors? What's the student-teacher ratio?
A: Amanda Rose Newton holds a Masters Degree in Entomology and an Associates Degree in Horticulture. She is a board-certified entomologist, beekeeper, and educator working as Rockledge Gardens' information specialist while she persues her PhD in Horticulture at FIT.
Amanda Rose's helpers are Tiffany, a straight-A rising high-school junior with four younger siblings and a passion for gardening, and Amoni, a nursing student at the University of Illinois in Springfield. 
Registration is limited to 25 campers so the student-teacher ratio will be approimately 8:1. 
Q: How will drop-off, pick-up work?
A: Parents should drop off campers in the Little Bugs Garden on the south side of our orange garden barn between 8am and 8:30am. Campers should be picked up at the same location at 11:30am.
Q: What should my child wear?
A: Campers should come each day in light-weight clothes that can get dirty. Much of the activities will take place under the covered pavilion in the learning center but some activities will be out in the sun so campers should
