Event Details
Christine Velez Stone of Titusville is the January Artist of the Month at the Studios of Cocoa Beach. The brilliant acrylic paintings of this designer artist are an inspiring way to start the New Year.
Christine began drawing as a child. She received an art scholarship and earned an AA in Visual Arts at Berkshire Community College in Massachusetts.She then moved to Columbia where she spent three years studying art and design at La Academia Superior de Arte in Medellin. This led to work as a designer and painter including murals, trompe l’oeil , faux finishes, and set design for theater groups. She has taught art in elementary schools and in various after school settings.
Her award winning acrylic paintings have been in art shows and exhibits throughout Florida. The big, bright and bold paintings depict happy, care free events and places. The viewer is invited to step away from their worries, let the color envelope you and take you to a place of serenity. Christine says “If while viewing my art a smile appears on your face then I know I achieved the goal and my life’s journey…to bring joy, peace and love to all who gaze upon His glory! Life is a picnic…Enjoy!”
At this time, the Studios of Cocoa Beach is open most days from 10:30 to 3:30, and some evenings. Hours are subject to change as volunteers are available.
