Encaustic Painting Class at Studios of Cocoa Beach

Encustic is the ancient technique of painting with colored wax. On Saturday March 7, 2020 from 10 am to 4 pm, the Studios of Cocoa Beach, 165 Minuteman Causeway in downtown Cocoa Beach will host a class where you can explore painting with hot wax! Using melted, pigmented beeswax and a variety of techniques, you will learn about tools, materials , and substrates as you create several works of art to take home and enjoy.

The class is taught by Shelley Jean. An experienced art educator, Shelley teaches at the Maitland Art Center, Mt. Dora Center for the Arts, aad at her Orlando home Secret Place Studio where she specilaizes in encaustics.

Fee for the class is $135 plus a $30 in class supply fee. The materials fee covers all needed supplies but students are invited to bring paper, photos, and mixed media ephemera.
