Event Details
The Studios of Cocoa Beach features the photography of Don Martin during the month of May. This award winning Viera resident and Navy veteran began his career taking thousands of intraoral macro photography for his publications and presentations while owning a dental laboratory. After retirement Don pursued his interest in photography by taking classes and enjoying various genres including wildlife, travel, landscape, and night photography.
Don has won numerous awards for his work, both locally and in national competitions including the Grand Prize in Outdoor Photographers 7th Annual International Great Outdoors Photo Contest and Digital Photo's International People's Choice Award.
Don says”The ability to capture not just a picture but a mood, a feeling, a time in my life is what I hope to share with all who see my work. I don’t specialize in a particular subject. Instead I save and share whatever I experience. Wildlife, landscape, travel, architecture, all move me. It’s a constant learning process and every new photograph is a stark reminder of the road that remains to be traveled.”
A print of his award winning wildlife photo” Home repairs” will be awarded to an attendee during the Studios new exhibit reception on May 25, 2018. His work can be seen daily at the Studios of Cocoa Beach, 165 Minuteman Causeway in downtown Cocoa Beach. The Studio is open Monday and Tuesday 10:30am-3:30 pm, Wednesday through Saturday 10:30 am-8pm and Sunday 11 am to 4 pm.
